Two Roads Diverged

Two Roads Divergedfeatured

The moonlight twinkles in the starry sky above,
Tells of a tale filled with darkness and love.
Two lovers they go on a path of their own,
In search for the truth with much to atone.

Together we drove way into the night,
Through the desert of spirits where the unforgiving takes flight.
The car shook and it rattled, as onward it went,
Our hearts bleeding in silence as the day had been spent.

The journey is long, and the wind seems to howl,
As the land it is barren with only the sight of an owl.
On our path there diverged a mysterious road,
Writhed with choices and tales to unfold.

A diversion of sorts from the frolic and play,
Exposing the truths of what came to dismay.
We looked to each other with hopes to make sense,
Of the transitional fear and its line of defense.

Our hands clinged together with hope that they might,
Be steadfast in destruction as the darkness took sight.
Torn far apart and ripped at the seams,
The cries and the anguish, oh how loudly our screams.

An abdominal mishap as the claws came to clutch,
Shredding the lines of our hearts to the touch.
A right and a left, we each chose a path,
And gave truth to the darkness and all of its wrath.

We were separated by choice and the lies that we knew,
Would embark us in chaos and be left to ensue.
You held her hand, and I held a rose,
Sending pain down my spine and into my toes.

Crippled by vengeance and in anger I screamed,
You lied to my face while you hid all your schemes.
Rather than be truthful and hide what you might,
You let it unravel in plain ignorance of sight.

My breath as it clings and holds close to my lungs,
Fights back the tears and words from my tongues.
Intertwining the lies as it wraps ‘round my head,
Makes me wish that this path had never been led.

Too foolish to see the truth and the lie,
My head in my hands as I sink down and cry.
We know what we’ve lost and what’s left in its place,
The lines have been drawn with such precision and grace.

The gravel it grips tight on my shoes,
The light from the sky shines in violets and blues.
I know what I want and just what I need,
Your lies you can keep and your sins you can feed.

I’ll find what is missing and sow it with thread,
My adventure awaits and now forward I’ll tread.

With Light & Love ♥
