Dream Space: A Moment of Contemplationfeatured
It’s one of the hardest places to be – standing at the precipice of watching your dreams come true.
It’s the very dream you’ve spent your whole life thinking about. The one you’ve wished and prayed for with the hope that someday it will enter your life at just the right time. Never a moment before or after, so the sequence of events that you’ve been planning could fall timely within their space. It’s the dream whose arrival appears boldly; knocking at your door when you least expect it.
As you welcome in its full entirety into your life, you begin to experience it’s beautiful presence pouring into the crevices of your soul. Finally feeling a sense of fulfillment and relief as excitement permeates throughout your entire being. The space to resonate with such strong and powerful energy, basking in its eternal glow.
What’s so hard about these moments is what we contemplate when they finally arrive. We look at how far we’ve come, the amount of effort we’ve poured into them, and the lessons we’ve learned along the journey. While those experiences have helped put the gravity of this amazing gift into perspective, it does require us to be gatekeepers of our thoughts.
It is easy to let our fears and doubts overwhelm us and derail our dreams from coming into fruition. The weight in which we carry from them becomes exhausting and burdensome. Its correlation causes the desire and drive to reach our results to dissolve and fizzle out, along with our dreams. But we must never stop dreaming and planning for them to come true. They need us as much as we need them.
Our dreams give us hope to hold onto and the comfort to know that we are not alone, even though we may feel like all is lost. They are pieces from some of the most intimate parts of who we are as people. To share them with anyone other than ourselves is sacred. But to revel in their magic breeds a life filled with courage.
As we discover and set our sights on new things, we must never forget that there is no shame associated with the decision to chase after a new dream. The awareness to know that what you thought you wanted is no longer what you really desire. Not because it “cannot be achieved” but because the passion it requires is no longer there or your priorities in life have changed.
This is a very simple post. But it can be one of the hardest places to navigate through even with the knowledge of knowing the truth. The most logical minds and emotional hearts still struggle with this lesson. In the end, we are the only ones responsible for making our dreams come true.
So, GO! Explore the world a little. You’ll be amazed at what you find.
Even in a year as crazy as this one, I’m thankful for the space to let go of an old dream so I could find a new direction.
