We Will Risefeatured

They say that anger is the poison of the heart and mind,
As it will consume the soul in a chaos of fire and flame.
Wickedness will seep from every crack and crevice,
Broken throughout the body fueled by violent forces.

That is what they tell little girls to make them comply
With the injustice that they knowingly serve.

“What will the world think of the woman who cannot control her emotions?”

Concealing their lies through false ideology
As if she is a gift, to be dressed in wrapping, and poised for perfection
Modeled and handed away to be a victim of circumstance.

Who will weep for the weary when their hearts break from devastation?
Lives lost in numbers searching for guidance around them?
Will you remember their names as you listen to their stories?

And yet there is something they do not want to know.
Those little girls will one day turn into women,
Keenly aware of the sinister truth,
And eradicate them with vengeance from future generations.

The dragon deep within me is raging,
Circling the sky with fire and brimstone,
As the scales on my body are rising.
It is time to prepare for battle.

We all have the ability to save a life, even if that life is our own.
