A Shield-Maidens Prayerfeatured

I close my eyes for a moment’s rest, to tune out the noise and silence my intrusive thoughts.
Entering into the void I can feel my presence in its entirety – whole, expansive, & weightless.
Another world stands before me; do I dare step inside the doorway of the unknown?

As I let my senses guide me, I let go of the anger inside my chest and focus on my breath.
I came here knowing that I would meet my fate; unafraid of what may happen next.
Shall I make peace with what I’ve sacrificed, knowing I have already paid the highest cost?

My choices did not bring me this far so I could surrender so comfortably.
I will not lay down my sword or be passive for an honest & righteous cause.
Nor part ways with the power that has transformed me into one of Odin’s shield-maidens.

I will continue to recognize the fierce gaze of the woman looking back at me.
Honoring the sacred space between my opponent and I with reverence.
Even into battle I will carry a way forward, quenching the thirst of my quest.

Never again will I accommodate for the sake of servitude and impotence,
Leaning on the ambiguous duality of a lie spoken through gritted teeth.
It is time to uphold the virtues and benevolence of the God’s.

For the precipice of Valhalla is waiting.
