Artemis & Orion

Artemis & Orionfeatured

Wild embers break as the fire crackles through the night,
A gift from up above, with the presence of sweet starlight.
In every constellation there arises a prominent star,
That when you look upon it, you know just where you are.

Our tale is part of mythology in one you’ve heard in Greek,
An age-old truth in solace with the answers you now seek.
Artemis & Orion were two great hunters of their time,
Without rhyme or reason fell in love as they intertwined.

Herald! She was a mighty warrior who went to battle quickly on her toes,
Her power succeeded greatly from her three faceted silver arrows.
Orion, a giant and a huntsman who was famed throughout far and wide,
His skill, mastery, and good looks could’ve won him any bride.

Playful in their games together, they ran as quite the pair,
Upping one another in hunting, as laughter filled the air.
But competition among two lovers came at quite a cost,
The truth in every adaptation is that Orion’s life was lost.

She asked her father Zeus to put him up in the starry sky,
At night when she saw the moon his light would catch her eye.
Artemis would smile widely as tears fell down upon her face,
And knew that in her heart, he held tightly in his place.

Just like constellations, hearts do carry a gentle type box,
Unlike Pandora’s curiosity this one comes with locks.
You are my constellation on which my eyes will always linger,
Setting the midnight sky ablaze my passionate fire bringer.
