The Devil & His Whiskey

The Devil & His Whiskeyfeatured

Another drag I take, among a fixated midnight high,
The smell of another cigarette sure makes the air feel dry.

Makeup smeared upon my skin from a lover’s close embrace,
Clothing spread across the floor throughout the hotel you can trace.

My cowboy boots & hat are in the corner near the door,
A loaded pistol on the table while on the bed he snores.

Covered in white cotton and glaring at the moon,
The dessert heat is heavy as it’s expected here in June.

We robbed a bank today like Bonnie with her Clyde,
And headed towards the mountains to our home in Telluride.

Outlawed in Sin City as bookmarking brings them fame,
Liquor sales and whiskey – well, they sure do speak our name.

He’s a gambling man and me, I like to try my luck,
At living life on the edge and driving the getaway truck.

Two sinners on a path of night and darkness is our tale,
We might go out with a bang, but we’re sure to give them hell!

😉
